Reduced-rate placements. The Conservatory is committed to making serious teaching accessible to dedicated students around the world. A small number of reduced-rate placements are therefore offered each cycle to those living in countries with significantly different economic conditions, or facing exceptional personal circumstances. These require a 6-month commitment instead of 3 and are decided case-by-case. If this applies to you, write to yafterman@gmail.com with your situation before enrolling.

Private Feedback

Every two weeks, submit a video for personal feedback from Yshai — staying close to your evolution, even in a group.

I've been studying percussion for over 15 years, and in Yshai I've found a teacher whose dedication and generosity are truly inspiring. His highly effective teaching method allows someone with no musical background to reach a professional level in just two years.

Common Questions

Before you enroll

I'm a beginner — or a professional. Either way, is this for me?

Yes — and the same lessons serve both, by design. The Conservatory teaches a method built one step upon the other: the fingerings introduced in lesson 2 are the same fingerings used in the most advanced compositions a year later. Beginners get a path with no gaps; professionals find depth they didn't expect in material that looks foundational. The two-year program — foundations and core repertoire in Year 1, refinement and advanced material in Year 2 — is structured so that what each person hears in the same exercise grows with them.

What if I miss a lesson?

Every class is recorded and posted to the student portal within hours. You can watch on your own schedule, with full access to sheet music, the practice room interface, and lesson summaries. Missing a live session is not a problem.

How does the 3-month minimum commitment work?

Today's $155 is the first of three committed months — September. The monthly subscription begins on October 1 and bills $155 for October and November as months 2 and 3. After November, you may cancel any time. Until August 15, 2026, your enrollment is fully refundable if you change your mind.

When and what time is the live class?

Sessions are typically held in the late afternoon to early evening, Eastern Mediterranean time (around UTC+3) — practical for students across Europe, the Middle East, much of Asia, and the morning hours in the Americas. The specific day and time for each group is finalized in late August, after enrollment closes, so the schedule works for the students who actually enroll. You'll be notified by email well before lessons begin in September.
