About the Artist

A percussionist of many worlds

Mark Moshayev is a percussionist whose musicianship spans the Western classical world, jazz, and the deep rhythmic traditions of India and Latin America. A graduate of the Thelma Yellin arts academy, he has performed with the Israel Philharmonic under conductors such as Zubin Mehta, shared the stage with leading jazz musicians, and studied tabla in India and percussion in Cuba.

From this unusually broad foundation he developed a distinctive rhythm method of his own — a system for mastering any meter or groove and unlocking real improvisational freedom. Born in Uzbekistan and raised in Israel, Mark today devotes himself to teaching, and to passing on a way of hearing rhythm that draws from every tradition he has absorbed.

This is not an ordinary class. It is an intimate encounter — a small, close circle where you don't watch a master from afar, but sit beside one.

What to expect

This is a live online masterclass — not a recording, but a real conversation as much as a lesson. Mark will share his unusual life and musical journey across classical, jazz, and the rhythmic worlds of India and Latin America — and the insights that grew into his own rhythm method: his approach to practice and to internalising any meter, the art of accompaniment across very different musical languages, and the spirit of curiosity and openness that lets a musician move freely between traditions.
