This month, Yshai is composing a new rhythmic piece that integrates drumming and voice. During the lesson we'll learn the composition together and work on coordinating rhythm and melody as one. Open to all instruments and levels.
The weekly group lessons cover a wide arc of material — technique, phrasing, repertoire, improvisation. The Monthly Topic is the complement: each month we take a single concept from the Method and sit with it. Slow it down. Look at it from inside and outside. Connect it to other ideas you already know.
The format is part lecture, part lab, part open exploration. We'll demonstrate, break things apart, ask questions, and integrate the concept into a way you can keep playing with after the call ends.
Open to all instruments and all levels — the Method's concepts are universal across darbuka, frame drum, riqq, and upright. The specific topic for May will be announced shortly.
